Coaching
Simply said, compassionate coaching supports Pastors and Church Leaders who want to make important life and ministry-enhancing changes. Change of any kind is difficult as anyone knows who has tried to break a bad habit, form a new one, change career-direction, learn new skills, improve a relationship, or help others change. And yet for all Christ-followers, God will see to it that life and work challenges bring us to a point that change becomes absolutely necessary. This is a critical step in one’s journey to be the leader God desires and to discover more of the abundant life Jesus promised. But “no man is an island”, so imagine how helpful it might be to bring a compassionate coach along for the journey.
Practically speaking, Christian Life Coaching helps you get more of what you (and God) want for your life and ministry and less of what you don’t want. It helps you clearly see the gap between what you desire and what you’re now experiencing, and enables you to move very efficiently to close that gap. Coaching is designed to help you formulate life and ministry goals, overcome obstacles, brainstorm solutions, make an action plan, and take advantage of encouragement, support, and accountability needed for goal attainment.
Coaching is different from counseling. It does not involve analysis, diagnosis, or any form of “treatment”. Your coach is not a “fixer” or “advice-giver”. With coaching, YOU decide what to work on and your coach enables YOU to make the changes that are most important to you. We will work hard at this with you, but YOU get all the credit for the positive results. The coach gets his fulfillment and livelihood from ensuring that YOU succeed!
Bottom line: if you are ready for change, New Direction Christian Coaching will help you take a “new direction” that leads to real transformation. And, once you learn the process that leads to change, you can apply it to any area of your life, become your own best coach, and learn to disciple others using the coaching mindset and methodology you have learned.
Note: Coaching is not appropriate for those who are mentally ill, deeply traumatized, or unmotivated to change. We are happy to make appropriate referrals to qualified counseling professionals upon request.
